Hundreds of memories

The fun times shared with Aunt Dottie and Uncle Charles are too many to count, and the memories are priceless. Thanks to your annual visits to California, you were an always present in our lives. The connection that you shared with my parents was beautiful. Trips to Mexico and all of the treasures that you purchased there. The memory of the old aluminum suitcase that would make the trip to California filled with Tasty cakes, veal loaf and scrapple to feed my mom's Pennsylvania cravings. Then the case would return to Philly chock full of tortillas, retried beans and Mexican food fixings, along with Coors beer that was, at the time, not available east of the Rockies. We couldn't wait for those goodies (and you) to arrive. All of the great visits to theme parks, Hearst Castle, Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas, Laughlin. Uncle Charles knew his way around the Southern California freeway system like a native. He was always in search of airplane parts. Fun with Donna and Jim Keep, eating out at yummy restaurants and shopping...shopping...shopping! I'll never forget your planning the food and attending my wedding, Aunt Dottie. My parents did not typically go out a lot or visit places of interest because it was always tough on a military salary. Your visits and the things you did together was a real blessing. They really enjoyed themselves and all of the adventures. Thank you for being such a big part of my adolescence and thanks for your enduring love. I miss you both and keep you and these wonderful memories in my heart. đŸ’•Linda
