Obituary for Ruth E. Christiansen
Ruth E. CHRISTIANSEN (nee Johler) age 93 of Philadelphia, PA passed away peacefully on March 15, 2016. Loving mother of Lynn Clark (Robert), Donna Lodek (Fred), and the late Dann Prochorenko (Ann). Adoring grandmother of Lisa Campbell, Robert Clark, David Clark, Jennifer Garback, Michael Lodek, Heather Penny, Jessica Giambra, John Lodek, Jennie Rose Stadelberger, and Julie D’amico. Cherished great-grandmother of 19. Ruth spent her childhood and schooling in Buffalo, NY. She worked as a dedicated nurse in the Armed Forces, St. Christopher’s Hospital and Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. She was preceded in death by husbands Alexander Prochorenko and Paul Christiansen. She is survived by many loving friends and family. Ruth’s passion and respect for God’s gifts of life prevailed throughout her life. Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation Monday, March 21, 2016 from 10:30am to 11:30am at Louis A. DiGiacomo Funeral Home 1055 Southampton Rd, Phila., followed by services 11:30am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory can be made to komenphiladelphia.org.
