Obituary for Katharina "Kay" Ohanian (Stocker)

Katharina Ohanian (Stocker) of Trevose, died peacefully and with dignity on May 21, 2009. She chose to live out the rest of her days at Abington Hospice at Warminster Caring for Life. Kay is of German decent and was born in Romania on April 24, 1939.

Kay immigrated to the United States when she was 15 years old. She resided in Philadelphia where she graduated from Dobbins Vocational Technical School and obtained her cosmetology license. After meeting Nick in school, they wed in 1957 and started their family in Philadelphia moving to Trevose in 1969 to raise their four daughters. Kay & Nick celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on May 15th.

Kay loved her family and friends, cooking, baking and gardening. She brought her family and friends together with her amazing culinary skills and brightened up the world with her exceptional green thumb.

Kay was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her husband Nick and four daughters: Betty Ohanian, Debra Congdon (Robert J. Burns), and her children (Pamela, Kimberly and Brittany and her daughter Azasia), Donna Straube and her husband Rob and children (Samantha, Robert and Sabrina), and Karen McKinley and her husband Michael and their daughter, Melissa along with many other family and friends. Kay is best known by her seven grandchildren and one great grandchild as Mom-Mom. In addition, she was loved by her pet dog Rusty, and cats Oliver, and Sassy.

Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Monday, May 25th from 7pm until 9pm at the DiGiacomo Funeral Home on 1055 Southampton Rd., Philadelphia, PA and services Tuesday at 10am at the North & Southampton Reformed Church located 1380 Bristol Rd. in Churchville, PA. Internment at Lawnview Cemetery, Rockledge, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Abington Hospice at Warminster Caring for Life Program where she enjoyed her last days with the wonderful staff and volunteers who provided excellent care and support to her and her family at 333 Newtown Road, Warminster, PA 18974.
