Samuel M.  Smith III
SAMUEL M. “SAM” SMITH III, age 62, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2017, surrounded by his family. Loving companion of Barbara (nee Gillie) Smith. Devoted father of Jason Smith and his wife, Shannon; Matthew Smith, Sarah Finley and her husband, Jim; and his dog Junior. Beloved grandfather of Olivia. Dear brother of Edward F. Smith and his wife, Jeanne; and Amanda Smith and her companion, Chris. He leaves behind nephews, nieces, cousins and many loved ones. He was "Uncle Sam" to numerous generations. He was a dedicated worker at Sparks Topsoil in Doylestown, PA. Sam was an avid member of Quaker City Yacht Club Horseshoe League and Penndel Bowling League. He will be remembered for his big heart, love for family, sense of humor and generosity. He loved spending time on the beach, especially Wildwood, NJ, listening to his music and spending time surrounded by great friends that have become family over the years. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Friday, October 13, 2017, from 6:00PM until 8:00PM and Saturday morning, October 14, 2017, from 9:30AM until 11:00AM at L. A. DiGIACOMO, Inc. FUNERAL HOME, 1055 Southampton Rd., Phila., immediately followed by words of remembrance 11:00AM at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
