EUGENE J. “Gene” DOOLEY, age 70, 82nd Airborne Ranger, Army 1st Lt. Vietnam Vet. Police Chief of East Whiteland Township and formerly Phila. Police Chief Inspector, and Wharton MBA, on March 13, 2018. Devoted husband to Jeanette (nee Lake). Loving father to Eugene J. Dooley, Jr.; Kevin Dooley (Donna); Karin Stewart (Robert); and Dennis Dougherty (Melanie). Beloved grandfather to Amanda Harris (Matthew), Meghann Stewart, Casey Stewart, Lainey Stewart, Emma Stewart, Denis Dougherty, Nuala Maeve Dougherty, and Kaitlin Dooley and cherished great grandfather to Scarlett Harris. Dear brother to Raymond Dooley and the late Francis "Jim" Dooley and Martenia Dooley. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Sunday, March 18, 2018, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm and Monday, March 19, 2018, from 9:00am until 10:00am at L. A. DiGIACOMO, INC. FUNERAL HOME, 1055 Southampton Rd., Phila., followed by funeral mass 11:00 at St. Christopher Church, 13301 Proctor Rd., Phila. Int. Washington Memorial Chapel Churchyard, Valley Forge, PA. SPECIAL NOTE FOR THOSE WHO WILL BE DRIVING IN THE FUNERAL PROCESSION FROM THE CHURCH TO THE CEMETERY: The funeral procession will be traveling via the PA Turnpike and will be escorted by the Philadelphia Police Highway Patrol. It is expected that EVERYONE DRIVING IN PROCESSION HAVE EZ-PASS. For those who do not have EZPass they are asked to carpool with vehicles that have EZPass or meet the funeral procession directly at the cemetery. Operating this way will greatly provide a high degree of safety for the those traveling in procession along with preserving the dignity and formality of Chief Dooley's funeral procession to the cemetery.
