Charlie's Trip to the Hospital

When Charlie was 4 or 5 years old, he stepped onto a board with a nail protruding from it.   He had to go to the hospital in an ambulance which was about the most exciting event in his young life.  They wanted to remove the board, but he wouldn't let anyone touch it until he got to the hospital.  No one was going to cut that ambulance ride short.

Charlie grew up on Somerset Street and 22nd Street.  Connie Mack Stadium was a block away.  As soon as he was old enough, he did everything he could to get into the stadium.  Kinds under a certain age could get in free with an adult.  He loved baseball and that stayed with him his whole life.

Charlie was so much fun.  He loved antiques and was very knowledgeable about them.  He remembered all the collections everyone had and loved adding to them.  He will be greatly missed.
