John J. "Jack"  Collins Jr.
JOHN "JACK" JOSEPH COLLINS, JR., passed away suddenly on November 27, 2015. Jack was a Renaissance man, born in Belfast, Ireland on August 14, 1931. He immigrated to Pennsylvania with his family; twin sister, Margaret Arena and Brother Terence Collins. Jack served as a Flight Engineer in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War. He served as board member of the Philadelphia Quartet Club, a founding member of the Penguin Ski Club and was an actor for Plays and Players Playhouse. Jack is survived by his devoted wife Rose (nee Hamryszak), his loving children Lizanne Shoemaker and her husband, Dr. Stephen Shoemaker, D.O.; John J. Collins III and his wife, Sheila; Timothy Collins; Meghan McCurry-Cell and her husband, Dave; his beloved grandchildren Nicki, Stephen, John, Ian, Jack, Daniel, Evan, Caity, Brendan, Katelyn, Kiera, Shane, Christian, Daniel, and Madeline and beloved great grandchild, Abby. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Saturday, December 5th, 2015 from 9:00 am until 10:45 am at St. Christopher Church, 13301 Proctor Road, Philadelphia, followed by his funeral mass at 11:00 am.
