I was Jack’s room service attendant at Holy Redeemer Hospital. Most patients have trouble remembering my face and my name but Jack was different from most patients. His room was never without a visitor. His kind spirit and warmth was apparent to me before he even spoke. He made my day at work brighter and I miss him. Jack and the Hanssens family all knew my face and my name. I want to thank the Hanssens family for their kindness and wish them strength in coping with their loss. Best Wishes, Maggie

I am very sad to hear that Mr. Hanssens has passed away. He was a personable man of integrity and generosity. In all the years that I have known him I never saw him angry or without a smile on his face. He was well versed on a wide variety of subjects and I enjoyed our many conversations together. He will be greatly missed. My condolences go out to Mrs. Hanssens and all of the family. Best Regards, Rick Hill

I always will remember Uncle Jack as a gentle, unfailingly kind man whose visits to our house on Naples Street were a happy occurrence. He had a great sense of humor and was completely down to earth, with a gift for putting people at ease. He was not just a loyal brother but a lifetime loyal friend to my dad, Francis. The love and affection between Uncle Jack and Aunt Mary was there for all to see. Plenty of people stay together for decades, but not too many stay in love and affection for so long. I send my love and sympathy to Aunt Mary and to the huge, open and loving multitude of their offspring in recognition of a very big loss.
